We rocked!!!!

Oh what a busy few days! Finally had 5 seconds to sit and chat with some of my favourite people, you :-)
Last Wednesday me, my WH (wonderful husband), sister, two sister-in-laws & mother-in-law went to the U2 concert. Wow wow wow! What a concert. JayZ was the warm-up act, he was great as well. Don't know many of his songs but still enjoyed dancing. But U2 was just fantastic, we were sitting right near where the band entered the stadium which was very cool. I unfortunatly was coming back from a cold so got alittle tired & had to sit down at points. But soooo enjoyed myself. We used public transport to get into the venue (glad we did!!!), so much easier than trying to find a park (especially since they close off all the surrounding streets to parking). And it was free, oh how I love that word 'free'.
This last weekend we made the mad dash to Toowoomba for one night to see my WH's (wonderful husband) Grandparents, normally this time of year they make a trip to visit but my WH's Grandfather hasn't been well enough to travel so we descided to go and visit them instead. We have been having some wild rain recently (almost all of spring and for the last two weeks of summer) so the trip to Toowoomba was a bit hairy to say the least. Glad that we took my WH's work ute, there was flooding and huge holes in the road, even went past someone who had decided to cross a flooded creek. The water was up to the top of their windows (and they had a 4x4), the rescue helicopter had to rescue them. Lesson to all, don't cross flooded creeks, rivers, streams or anything way too dangerous!
I have some more December Daily pages to come, just have to upload some more pictures. Been soooooo busy. Only going to get busier the closer to Christmas!!!

Strange idea but happy

I am a TV watcher, and I prefer to have the TV on when I am in the house by myself. A few weeks ago I saw a show about curly hair.
I have curly hair I thought
In the show they said that people with curly hair suffer from frizz.
Yep! Preaching to the choir here!
Because of this frizz, people with curly hair shouldn't use combs or brushes, but instead use what God gave us, fingers.
Ok......made kind of sense, and to be honest somedays I would hate leaving the house cause the frizz was just so bad I couldn't do anything with my hair.
It has been about a month of trying this going without a brush or comb thing.
There has been a deduction in the frizz (woohoo!), but my hair has become alot softer. Somedays my hair can feel like a pile of hay, so I am very happy with the result.
I will say that going without a hairbrush & comb isn't for everyone. It takes alittle longer to get all the knotes out and I wouldn't want to have any longer hair than what I have. It could be abit of a nightmare.
I have always struggled with my hair, it is fine, with a slight curl, a cowlick & can be oily. But I am reasonably happy with my wake up run my fingers through my hair and out the door I go do that I have had.
What about your hair? Are you happy? Would you like a change? Have you ever made a change that was just so wrong!?

Saturday Afternoon

We have become a bit of a no TV family, during the week we watch plenty of TV it is hardly off during the day and evening. How does that makes us no TV? Weekends & days off is how. I don't think that it was a conscious decision (at least as far as I can remember), but on the weekends and my WH's (wonderful husband) days off we don't watch TV until about 7pm or later if we are busy.

So what do we do instead, well we aren't without technology. We use our computers, it has become a bit of a regular Saturday afternoon/evening thing particularly.

We are lucky enough to each have our own laptops, not that we aren't good sharers it is just how things have worked out. I have always loved using a laptop, I like the freedom to be anyway in the house and still able to edit photos and since we got wi-fi surf the net anywhere (mostly sitting on the couch, who doesn't like a bit of comfort when surfing). I also like to spread out when doing major editing projects or when using my computer to research a devotion that I am doing for youth group or for bible study and I can never have enough room, when I am at the dinning table I spread over the whole table, the chairs, couch and even the floor. Until the beginning of the year my WH had a PC that sat in what was once the 'computer room', but he felt alittle isolated when he was in there and was in the market for a new computer so we got another laptop. His is a wide screen laptop, my WH likes to edit video footage and the wide screen suits him better.

I really enjoy our Saturday afternoons sitting on the couch together, we can do whatever it is that we are doing on our computers but still chat. Defiantly something to look forward to each week.

I don't do mornings.....normally

I am not a morning person, ask anyone. I absolutely hate seeing light when I open my eyes, I don't see why the day time couldn't around alittle later and allow me to sleep alittle longer. Sometimes my reluctance to get out of bed is due to a rather late night the night before, but not the majority of time. I just don't do mornings. I wonder around in a daze, after taking ages to get out of bed in the first place, and I am really not totally switched on till around noon.

Tomorrow I am getting up at some silly time of the morning to travel down to the city to pick up my WH's (wonderful husband) new work ute. Current we have a ute that is about 7 years old, only has two seats and tries its hardest to shake your kidneys out of you when you are driving around even on the newest roads. Don't get me wrong I am extremely grateful that we have had the ute for the last year or so. Especially with us only having one income at the moment, the amount of money we have been able to save on petrol for our car is huge. And the stuff we have been able to carry from point A to point B has been a blessing as well.

I am really not looking forward to getting up tomorrow, really not. But I am looking forward to spending time with my WH. Who usually gets Monday's off but he has two of his employees away so he has had to switch his day off till Thursday until his employees are back, kind of annoying but it happens. My WH is going to drop me off at a shopping centre close to his head office (where he is picking the ute up from) so I can enjoy one of my favourite things to do. Drink hot chocolate (yummy!), usually I would also eat a piece of cake or a muffin at the sometime, but trying to be frugal I am going to be taking some apple cake and a banana muffin that I have already made in a container down with me (cheap? probably. But it saves money, every little bit counts).

Also taking some mags that I already own, but might find a discount store a buy a small sketch book for myself so I can sketch layouts and other ideas that I come across in the mags. I have been meaning to do this for a while, I have been making & selling notebook/journal covers for a little while and I don't have one for myself. So I am going to get a little sketch book, make a cover for it and when people ask what I sell I can show them. Also good advertising when I just get the sketch book out of my bag and use it (always thinking me). Check out my ETSY store (click on the side bar at the top of my blog) I will be adding some more journal/notebook covers in the next two weeks.

Everyday I......

My cus Talia posted three things that she does everyday click here to see her three everyday things. So I thought that I would share three things that I do everyday, well...almost everyday....if I am at home I am very very likely to have done these things.

1. Drink water (I have a real problem drinking the recommended daily intake, and pay for it with migraines)

2. Watch TV & surf the Internet and fave blogs (recognise the blog in the picture?)
3. Play with Curios (he takes the best pictures!)
What three things do you do everyday?

Massive job

I really have to get into the habit of transferring photo's from the camera more often, did it yesterday 400+ photo's, all had to be transferred, organised and people tagged. What a job!

Took such a long time! Never again, I will be putting a reminder in my calendar on my phone (and computer) once a month.

Never, never, never again!

Having a cold

Oh the first cold for the season. Started with a really sore throat on Wednesday, which got worse on Thursday and the runny nose started. Friday I started taking cold & flu tablets to combat the runny nose & stuffed up feeling. Saturday was probably the worse day as I hadn't slept since Wednesday and was just so warn out. Today I am feeling much better, had a nice long nap this afternoon so feel so much brighter. Hoping that this is the end of the cold......just want to sleep and be able to hear things properly.

Yesterday was 'Slave Day', a group of the youth & young adults @ our church are participating in Relay for Life (a fundraising event for the Queensland Cancer Council), and their fundraising involved a silent slave auction. Basically every member of the church relay for life team put themselves up for doing anything that anyone is willing to pay them for. Me and my husband put some money forward to get our garden weeded and some piano lessons (my talented hubbie has taken up the piano, and is teaching himself). So thankful for the work that got done yesterday, hardly recognise our backyard, the only thing left is to sort out some of the rubbish that was discovered (joys of renting). Great job guys!
